Cybersecurity Awareness Month - WST

Tomorrow is October and it’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month! For the 18th year, we’ll mark a national month to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and how to be more secure. There are so many things we can do to be safer and more secure online, such as:

  • Use a password manager
  • Set up MFA for your logins
  • Enable auto-update on your devices
  • Use a VPN
  • Keep good backups
  • Etc.
  • Etc.
  • Etc.

It’s hard to know what to start with, so we polled our security team, asking “What is the one thing you would tell people to do to be safer and more secure?” One of the top answers was “Knowing how to spot a phishing email” because even with everything else in place, falling for a phishing email can still let the bad guys in.

For Cybersecurity Awareness Month, 10-D Security has developed a quick, online training called, “Spot the Phish” that is available to everyone. Go to our website, https://10dsecurity.com/, click on Academy, scroll down and you’ll find the training, or you can use this link, https://10dsecurity.com/sharedcourses/PhishingRefresherRiseModule_Web/content/index.html. Feel free to share. We hope this kicks off Cybersecurity Awareness Month with a bang!
